We have a PE Vista insert and are going to purchase a poly brush to self-clean our liner. We're getting tired of paying someone to do a job that is not exceptionally hard (except for getting on the roof LOL). We have the 1/4" flexible poles for the chimney. Our liner is a 7" oval stainless steel. It had to fit in an existing masonry chimney and then a "coupling" was used to join it to the round flue pipe at the top of the firebox. I've gotten varying advice on which size poly brush to purchase. One person says that the brush should be the diamater of the flue (7"). Another person says that a 12" ploy brush is what we need because the 12" brush will flex as it goes up and down the liner and will give a tighter fit and do a better job. I'm stumped. We haven't found an oval brush in poly (they only seem to make them in metal), so a round poly brush it is.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.
