Ok, If I'm pulling a SS liner out, can I do it from the inside through the fireplace? Or will it still be easier pulling it out friom the roof?

From the roof.

Like BB said but get a friend over to help and have a beer with when done.

Gotcha. Ok, is there a minimum heighth a block off plate has to be from the stove top? I can put one in about 4-6 inches above my stove around the 30 elbow. It's tough to see, but you can see the lentil, I would install a block plate about 2 inches above the lintel.

That will be fine. It is just to hold the heat in the fireplace. Above the lintel is where it ought to be.

taking out the old liner to install a new one?

yep, I plan on usimg Roxul to insulate my block off plate. Can I also use Roxul to stuff down alongside of my SS liner instead of vermiculite??
