If you are going to run soft wood pellets and you have a mt vernon built before 2006 (or when ever the 4 speed clear control boxes were adopted) you should set the control box to #3! My customer has a ton of pellets that I have never seen before. All they say on them in black writing is 100% wood pellets. No company, no mill, no address nothing except 100% wood pellets.

Remember when NO NAME products were all the rage at the super market in 1985???

Well, they burn hot enough to trip the high limit switch. High ash ans high temp pellets need a 20% reduction set by the #3 setting of the control box.

Thats what I learned today.
