Touched one off a few weeks ago at Camp Jakeawana -- my end of the year event where friends come down/up to camp in my side yard. We generally eat a lot, talk a lot, ATV, kayak/canoe and go to the Commonground Fair . . . and there is our Movies Under The Stars Night where I put up a white sheet on to the front of my woodshed and watch a movie (although this year we did Movies Under the Ceiling due to bad weather.)

Take a straight grained, dry log- split into maybe 8 pieces. Reconstruct the split log, leaving a little gap between pieces, stuff something for firestarter down between the pieces at the bottom and light. You can put a pot on top and cook.

Pretty much what the Pantless One stated . . . except I didn't split it . . . I used a chainsaw and cut down 3/4 of the way or so vertically (making Backwoods proud) leaving the bottom in tact . . . used a Super Cedar and then later (since I am a pyro firefighter) some lighter fluid to really get it going. I mostly burned it for the ambiance as when the flames get going and the lights from the flames inside the wood radiate outwards it's pretty cool.

    Very cool Jake.
Sounds like you all had a good time.
I made one of those at my SIL's a couple days ago, and now we're waiting for it to dry. I'll do a couple more here with the Maple.
The ability to adapt ( Movies under the ceiling) makes things fun.
