Pellets are taxed in ohio, as well as heating oil. Currently 6-1/2 or 7% depending on which county of the two I make a purchase as I live almost on the border of the two.
Being new to this, the ton of corn and ton of pellets I bought this year was my first time, and I was shocked to find out there was no tax on either.
When I was at the store getting the pellets, and they rang it up with no tax, I even said to the cashier, "wow, no tax? how did NY miss taxing something?"

Thanks for the reference Mac - I live in suffolk, where the rate is 2-1/2%, but if I buy one county over (Nassau), there is no sales tax. I'm pretty sure I've been mis-charged in the past. I'm gonna print this out and keep it in my truck.
