Ok, we have a Lopi Answer insert, and had it installed in the summer of 2008, so this would be my third season burning with it.
Granted I am on to better wood than in years past, but once the stove reaches about 525-550 I am getting this smell that reminds me of hot plastic being molded.
I know for sure that the stove has been up to 625 or so during the first year we had it, thanks to the ice storm that left us without power for 10 days.
Could it possibly take this long for the paint to cure? or perhaps its some sealant that the dealer used when installing? (Don't recall this smell last year at all...and if the stove is below 500 I can't smell it at all.
