Yes, and I just decided that oil heat is MUCH cheaper than pellets too.

April Fools day to you too. ;lol

Ahhhh, you guys need a hobby, OHHHHH!

I know this is a joke thread, but i've honestly started to consider this. Not so much getting rid of my pellet stove, but buying a wood stove for my lower level. This room never gets any heat as it's 6-steps down from my stove (my house is a split level).
I just paid a $400 oil bill for just over 100 gallons of fuel oil, which is basically this room's fault (which is left at 55* 99% of the time) and my hot water, covers since December. that seems wicked high. I can't imagine an electric hot water heater would cost 125 a month to run. I've also considerred looking into one of those on-demand water heaters, but i don't have a gas line to my house, so i'd need to get a tank, which i also don't have a good spot for due to my wrap-around deck.

Adding in a wood stove will then give me 3 options for heat (oil radiator, pellet, and wood), + 1 additional via electric plug-ins that i have in my bedroom, mostly used as a tv stand/decorative piece )its like one of those Amish things you see on tv, but mine is from China lol)

I'm looking to get a wood stove that doesn't require any power too. I froze in last falls power outage from the storm when my pos generator wouldn't run my stove.

Placement sucks though in this room in terms of the exhaust pipe too.

And the garage isn't big enough.

And I want a bigger back yard for my garden.

And i want to have more privacy.

And pay less taxes...

I think it's time to just move :(

They make electric on demand water heaters. And those heat pump water heaters are well worth the money. You wouldn't believe how much we save on our electric bill with it.

I'm thinking of selling mine too along with the house and cottage and going to someplace that doesn't get below 70 degrees.

Still it is MUCH cheaper to get a good USED pellet stove for the basement and be done with it!

BTW I have a big 45 K BTU pellet stove for sale very reasonable. I just replaced BOTH Auger Motors and have a spare Igniter. So it will run for a LONG time very reliably!

There is a Big Sale on the Englander 30-NC, its a Heck of a Heater.. If anyone was looking to get into a very large EPA stove, from cheap (less the $700 for a 3.5 cu ft stove) then the 30-NC is the way to go. Just keep in mind that a chimney system (either Class-A or insulated liner for existing chimney) can be pricey.

I installed a 30-NC last fall and burned just around 2 ton this season, compared to 4.5 last year and 4 ton the year priors. This season was warmer. But still a huge savings. Its in my basement and isnt ideal, but over 35°-40° I dont need to use pellets. So the shoulders I save a lot and during the cold months, it allows a lower feedrate on the Fahrenheit.

If you have access to free wood (your land or families and friends) then its a no brainer. I was just over my buddies house (1.5 miles down the road) clearing out all the standing dead Ash Trees. There is probably 100 of them. Looks like I will be burning just Ash for years to.come..

Here is the thread on what zip code to enter on Home Depots website..

Getting out to vote this Nov. might help....the guy in the White House now is all for keeping the prices of energy high, and for more control over your life.

No it doesn't make sense, and because there is not much that is making sense coming from that place that each person should try to make some sense about who they send to be there. http://deoxy.org/emperors.htm

In our little town, we had a select person who started to take, then took some more and yet even more. Then her husband got in on it and took some, then more and more. When they got caught and confronted, they were defensive and could not understand that taking advantage of others for their own personal gain was wrong. The select person would not resign and by law we had to wait until their tenure was up. The law moves very slowly. They are facing huge federal charges, but it is going to take years of higher taxes to recover from their self-indulgence.

Keeping them high for now.....and then right before election day.....a sudden and "miraculous change" in his policy to "help" all Americans....he is then an instant "hero". And who wouldn't want to vote for a "hero"????

Key word here is "VOTE"....

Cute lil pup... Its my buddies dog (forum memeber barnyard840x). I think he is 9 months now. Rambunctious and full of energy... My Dogs and his Dogs, (he has a Large Malamute not pictured) dont get along very well. So my pups stayed home.

That's easy. He's still blaming it on Bush!!!! And being that 52% of the voters pay no taxes and there are more government workers than ever, he is arrogant enough to think he will be reelected. His goal and that of his benefactor, George Soros, is to bring this country's economy to collapse so that Socialism/Marxism can be instituted. STOP WATCHING MSNBC!!!! :)

Do what I did and install a small wood/coal cook stove. No electricity needed. Cook meals just for the fun of it while you get your house warm.

www.sopkainc.com Talk to the owner, Geno, and get a great deal. This one cost me $1000 including freight to my door.
