I'm looking for a flywheel for the sem ignition. Anyone know where I can locate one?

Whats wrong with yours?

I am working on one and it has the bosch ignition and It doesn't have any fire. I checked the kill wire and switch. The bosch is not available. The sem is still available but you have to get a flywheel for the sem. I found a nos flywheel on ebay for $200. Guy really doesn't really ant to put almost $500 into it. I been reading on arborist site about a guy that fixed his bosch ignition. That me be the option to go with.

The froggy fix...
I don't have any idea on what i have for 056 saws,i haven't grouped them up for a discovery session yet.
I have a 056 Mag 2 that runs,i was filling a guys fuel tank and he had just bought the house. He comes out of the garage and asked me if i wanted the saw he was carrying. it was the 056.It's going to the dump if you don't take it,he said.

I have been reading into the froggy fix and I might just go ahead and do that. Well that's a good score. Lol

I figured that i would probably be doing the froggy fix on one at some point as well.
I havn't dug out the pile of 056 family to see what i have mainly because of the gift of the 056 Mag 2 as it runs.

From my understanding most of the ones that use the bosch ignition are older non mag2. The 056mag to is supposed to have the sem ignition. This could be one of the early ones before they switched. I'm also trying to find the capacitor that froggy used. Ebay has them but I won't get it until April 20. I don't want to wait that long. That's what happens when everything comes from accros the pond.

Looked at buying an 056 Mag 2 a few years ago. Amazing saw, even more fun than my 064 AV. I was friendly enough with the seller that he seemed obligated to talk me out of it, due to the ignition component availability issues.

I do recall the thing being awful heavy to carry any real distance, but that may just be memory playing games with me.

Your memory was not playing games with you..I ran one for a couple years and it was a beast of a saw!

It's definitely on the heavy side. Not my first choice saw to use. It has It's place though.
