   Assume lots of you are firing stoves up today if I am here in VA. It may frost tonight.
   Bought a magnetic thermometer that says to put on the pipe, but is that assuming single wall pipe? If so, should the thermo go somewhere on the stove or should I "calibrate" readings based on the selkirk doulble wall's insulating capabilities?

   Correct. They make probe thermometers for double-wall connector pipe. It's not a good indicator when put on double-wall pipe. You can put it on the stove top instead.
