Traeger gbu130 feeder cup rotation??

I have a traeger gbu130.
when I look at the feeder cup, the three cavities have one sharp edge and one dull edge.
the cup rotates counter clockwise (as seen from the motor).

this rotation direction uses the dull edge to shear the pellets, This makes no sense to me (not an engineer)
why would the one edge be sharp if it is not to cut.

contacted pinnacle and they confirm the counter clockwise but had nothing to say about the sharpened edge.
 
Not sure if you ever found anything out about your feed cup but mine on my 070 is the same way and I'm sure that it is just warn that way. The plates on the outer edge of the cups can be turned upside down to make it better. You need to remove the feed cup to do it though.
