Trying to finalize the Masonry heater going in the great room.
I also want to have a 2nd flue coming from the basement.
The question I have is about how to penertate the cathedral ceiling.
Roof is a 10/12 pitch, it will be penitrating about 1/2 way up (24' wide room, so 12' from wall to peak)
1) Should I frame a Chimney , or just let 2 flues stick out of the roof.
I was thinking of framing a Chimney chase about 5' high with a cricket, and capping it with a S.S. top pan that the 2 flues would penatrate.
2) do they make double cath ceiling boxes ? I have not seen any ?
3) this is on the back of the house, backing up to the wood, no one will ever see it.
Going all the way up with masonry would be to "over powering" for the great room.
attached is a picture of what I have in mind ?
Thanks for any idea's,
Nick
