So as I announced last spring, I was expecting twins this fall. Needless to say, much of my wood processing did not get done, as trying to split wood while 4-6 months pregnant in the heat is pretty much a non-starter to begin with, let alone with TWO babies. So we're currently running electric heat and I'm telling myself that it's just extra seasoning time and trying not to think about money.

But more importantly I have PICTURES. Their names are Augustus Luke and Thomas Graham. I went into labor at thirty-five weeks on the dot- not too early for twins but a little earlier than we would have liked. Gus was five pounds, six ounces (not too shabby!) and Thomas was six pounds, fifteen ounces (I am kinda glad he didn't get an extra couple weeks in there!)

Holding my son Thomas for the first time. He had to go to the NICU because he was having trouble getting the water out of his lungs. He was only there for about a day and a half, though, and we all came home together.

I have 2 kids, 2 years apart and know how things are around here! God bless ya with twins and am extremely glad to see that everyone is doing well.

And, btw, those weights would be legitimate for singles and impressive for twins! Well done!

    Random thoughts . . .

Beautiful kids . . . all of them.

Holy crap . . . for just having two kids you look fantastic yourself . . . if I were to give birth to just one kid I would no doubt look as if I had just gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson.

    Congrats.

You wouldn't know it to look at me, but I gained close to sixty pounds with this pregnancy. I spent the last two months gaining close to three pounds a week. ALL went to babies. I've got an abdominal split about six inches wide, too, which is less than fun, because when I sit up I have to squish my innards back under the muscle wall.

I'd still feel better if I had more wood. We're coping with the electric heat (I have some oil filled radiators and various electric space heaters) but we also haven't spent very long under freezing yet.

Congrats from a fellow twin family! Ours were our first and a handful by themselves, much less having older children as well.

Twins are so precious... it just gets better and better, ours are at the stage that they are starting to become inseparable playmates (almost 2).

Congrats on the new arrivals :)

Kids are some of the greatest gifts that a person can receive... We are blessed with 2 beautiful children.

Worry about those babies first. The wood will come when time allows.
