Hopefully they offer a good product and are successful. They're a quick shot down the road from me.

When I hear Winchendon, 3 words come to mind....Bills Curve In. Burned down years ago. Anyone familiar with that fine establishment? Lol

Only through stories from some of the Natives. It used to be just down the road from were I live.

Have you tried Cheshire Pellets? I tried two bags and was not impressed @ $240/ton. Plus the material that is used is just scrap wood and pallets.

I can almost hit the Winchendon line with a rock, so if the pellets are good, I would definitely consider them.

Haven't tried them. A bit pricey considering the distsance. Hamshaw is almost just as close for me going over rt124. Magnet or no magnet, pallets have a lot of nails in em and I wouldn't take any chances.

Is there sales tax in MA on pellets?

Not sure about the MA sales tax. I'm most likely going to go with Okanagans from Hamshaw. A bit pricy but they did a great job of heating my house this past winter. I used 3 tons of Okies during the colder months and 1.25 tons of NEWP on the shoulders. Not to bad for +2000sq/ft.

I'm down to my last 7 bags of NEWP and no more Okies, so hopefully the warm weather is going to get here soon.

From what I've read on the forum, there is no sales tax on pellets in Mass. Should be none on any type of home heating fuel.

Thanks, imacman, that's what I figured....we're talking Massachusetts though, so I wasn't sure ; )

Back in '88 my Uncle carved the life size rocking horse (replica of Mr. Morton's) for the town of Winchendon...Have never seen it in it's final resting spot, but saw it being carved.

Very interesting, WoodPorn. I think it's on Rt 12 past the Cumberland's convenience store on the right just before the Rt 12/202 split.
