You may be right/proper about the P series being more forgiving. But,if it is an older accentra, that should have had the gummy stove upgrade,or,does not have the latest control board(which really makes most Harmans run cleaner, yet, more heat goes out the stack),Why bring in the swimming pool crap on a heat forum. Your comparison is poor.An Accentra,on soft pellets,I s supposed to run for a ton, before cleaning, with 1-2 days of cleaning/scraping the pot.On hardwood pellets, will be more. But,due to the design of the stove,1/3 of the ash misses the ash pot, after 1/3 of a ton,the ash buildup misses the ash pot(open the door, the ash is build up on the lower hinge, drops off when opening the door),The Accentra, being cast steel, retains the heat better,Untill the last Harman Control Board upgrade,as,the board upgrade keeps the exhaust blower running much longer, than the previous control boards. Therefore, the shut down pellet stove draws more heat out of the house, reducing efficiency..Hope this helps.Clean an Accentra, whenever the ash comes out on the lower hinge, even though the ash pot is not full.

Think I am picking up a used P43 on Friday. Comes with exhaust and OAK and a hearth. Think I am going to plan on moving my P68 into the main part of the house and put this 43 into my living room. P43 should be more than enough for my secluded living room right? 500sqft but 19ft ceilings. It is well insulated. Should be no problem I think- just a big room and the only heat source so makes me nervous.

Thanks all for the help. And entertainment from the bickering.

Any thoughts on a fair price to ask when selling my Quad Contour? Old stove but in good condition and works great.

I assume with a room that high you have ceiling fans ? The P43 is rated for nearly twice your space if you consider the double height of your room being roughly 1000 sq ft. It should be a good fit, and the room is well insulated. You will need fans to keep the heat down at floor level is all but that goes for with any kind of heat source, not just the stove.
