I haven't posted on here In a very long time, i recently was able to score 4 grapple loads of pine 5 mins from my house. Still have to season it but I'll have around 30 cords when complete

Holy cow that’s a lotta wood

Here in Central CT you can get a tree guy to deliver as much pine as you want for free. No one wants it so they are happy just to get rid of it. For me I can score plenty of hardwood at no cost and find that the effort required to split the pine (knotty) and the amount of space it takes relative to the equivalent amount of BTU's from hardwood makes it something I tend to shy away from. That being said, when the a giant white pine in my yard needs to come down, it gets split and turned into heat:).

Nice score.

I’m jealous.

Around here you can’t even pay someone to deliver a grapple load of anything anymore.

Only the pine/softwood is delivered free. The hardwood I have to go get, can always find some on Craigslist if needed. Luckily my neighbor put in a pool and I have been able to pull 20 - 25 cord from right across the street:). They just took down some more trees and think there is another 3-5 cord waiting for me.

I'm half way done currently , 2 years ago I cleared 2 acres of land it was full of white oak, red oak and various birch, I have enough hard wood for 5 years. the pine will be used in the house during shoulder season, my fire pit and also have 4 customers that buy pine from me as well. I may start bundling but still unsure. everyone around here believes in the pine myth so its usually free.
