I purchased a new baffle board from the nice folks at englander(got it at cost). My question is for mike or anybody else that knows. Isn't that board supposed to lay right on top of the tubes? My old one did but the new one seems a little big. It's about an inch above the tubes and that's as far down as I wanted to force it because I didn't want to break it

Sounds like it needs trimmed a little. It should lay on the tubes, you are correct.
