1980's Country Flame Identification and How to Use

Would anyone be able to tell me more about this stove. It is new to us with the house. From the best of what I've found out so far is that it is made by Country Stove (no longer in business) none catalyst model B. I have located a model B operators manual that doesn't give me the information I'm looking for. In the photos I have the sliding baffle plate removed. Where is that supposed to be during operation and what is its purpose? The rod that closes and opens the back holes on top, is it supposed to be open or closed?

The knob controls the bypass. Those doors are open for starting the fire, then closed when the stove has warmed up. I'm trying to figure out which model this is. Several of their stoves were catalytic, though this one doesn't appear to be. My guess is that it's an S series.

Note that while Country Flame isn't still made, Country Stoves still are, but that is a different company in Auburn, WA.
