i have a whitfield pellet stove. i decided to try a different pellet. pennington pellets. what i was using produced way too much ash. the pennington pellets seem to produce alot less ash and less sparks coming from the flew but it will run for several hours and then shut off by itself. still has half a hopper full of pellets. even has pellets left in the burn box. i have cleaned it very well. any ideas
thanks, denny

I would start by cleaning the photoeye or photo eye filter. Check your manual on how to do this. On my insert I use a mirror and flashlight., aim it up the chute where the pellets fall and use a long waterpaint brush taped to a pencil. I believe this cleans the filter.
