I had picked up one ton of the Dejnos softwood blend just before Christmas for $253.50 from Fleet Farm. They are just about as good as the Uncle Jed's softwood. Good heat, just a little more ash. Only had room for 1 ton or I would have gotten more.

Fleet Farm has them on sale now for $5.49 a bag. They also have a marketing gambit where they'll give a $10 discount code you can use at checkout for your phone number and email. I just bought a ton.

For anyone interested, Fleet Farm has $50 off $300 purchase or $100 off $500 purchase. Coupon code HAPPYFALL24. Good until October 16, 2024 I believe.

I was at my local Menards in Johnson Creek, Wis., the other day. They had Somersets for less than $5 a bag. That probably includes their 11% store credit; I'm stuffed to the gills with Peak softwoods so I didn't look that closely. Still, a decent deal for this time of year.

Looking for good pellets that burn good and a quad fire classic bay 1200 heard hammers where gd . Iam new. Pellets stove
I'm hundreds of miles from you, so pellet brands are probably different. Somersets are good. I'd check big-box stores and farm stores to see what they stock, then ask for feedback on the forum regarding those specific brands.

Little change from 2025.

My local Menards has been carrying Somersets all this heating season. I bought five tons last fall at about $240/ton after rebate.
The Somersets were kind of a letdown. Pellets were dark, as if there was some bark in them. They produced a lot of ash and clinkers. I've burned Somersets in previous years, and this year's were not up to snuff.
That said, I picked up a couple bags a week ago, and they looked a lot better. I may get a dozen more bags to see if the quality has improved.

The Menard's here had them as well for a while. I did notice that they were a dark color as well. I did not buy any to try. I am still quite well stocked up.
