It was 3 above last night and my Harman PB105 worked great. I am heating 2000sq ft @ 70 night and 74 during daytime. I had the PB105
set on #5 used 2.5 bags of pellets for 12 hrs. Comments

Glad your staying warm. Not that cold here yet. It has been the cocldest we've had this winter. In the teens now and I'm sitting
here with no shoes, socks, or shirt very comfy. How much does a bag of pellets cost ?

Glad to see it is working good for you DERUBIS. I just googled your boiler and it looks like a nice unit. Much better than paying the oil or gas man! Should save you quite a bit of money in the long haul. It was -10 °F on my back porch this morning. My Wood Gun boiler worked overtime last night. A load of large splits of Ash made it through the night from 9:30PM to 5:30AM. The chamber was empty with a few small red coals left. Just enough to throw some small pieces of dry pine slab wood on and a little paper and off it went. Winter has officially arrived. Well, maybe. It is suppose to warm back up later this week. :cheese:

Glad the pellet boiler is working out for you - always nice to see the oilman drive by without stopping at your house. I'm still looking for a way to produce cost-effective pellets from firewood - when I do, you can become my first customer ;-) . For those of us running wood boilers without storage, the cold is good news. At 2 above last night, all I needed to do is load and go - no small fires necessary, and very little idling. Bring it on :lol:

Good to hear that you are staying warm. I was looking at that unit but ended up getting a really good deal on the SF-260 and 2 years of free wood fell in my lap so that is the direction i went.

We got down to 5 last night but appears we will have that 45 degree Wisconsin weather here by the weekend No problem maintaining a fire when it gets into the single digits! I just remarked to my wife how we used to wrap up in sweaters and blankets to watch tv at night, now I'm not sure where she has the sweaters stored at.

Got 9 ton of pellets delived @ 215/ton in Sept from Home Depot.

That is a good price DERUBIS. I think the last time I looked at the sign at the local Lowe's they were $269/ton. How long will 9 ton last you?

I am a little concerned about your peleet use..... at the rate of 2.5 bags per 12 hours you will use 5 bags in a 24 hour period times 30 days equals 150 bags! 150 bags in one month (3 ton) equals over $600 to heat your house for one cold month! are you sure about your usage?

9 ton will last for the whole heating season. I got the 9T figure by converting 1000 galsoil to wood pellets tonnage. BTU to BTU.
I only used 2.5 bags on this cold night for 12 hrs. I use about 2 bags in 24hrs when the temp is around 20
