Hi,
We installed a top vent adapter on our classic bay stove and are going to put a 3 - 4 increaser on the pipe. The inside of the increaser has a silver liner, when you it on the stove pipe the silver portion is sitting on top of the pipe. Is the silver liner supposed to go inside the pipe or outside? If inside the pipe do we crimp it to make it fit and if outside the how do you make it fit :) ? Thank you for any help....

You should probably mention what type of venting you are using.
Most stoves require a stove adapter for the initial piece of venting.
Maybe yours does too, BEFORE the increaser is used,

We used the duravent top vent adapter on the back of the stove to put the pipe in the middle of the stove then we need to increase from the 3" pipe to the 4" so we bought the 3" to 4" increaser. Are you saying there is another part that we need? If so, it would be nice if it said that was the case, we have to order pretty much everything where we live which takes time for delivery...

Does not sound like you used the Quadrafire top vent adapter.I recommend you take some pictures and post.
Yes we used the Quadrafire top vent adapter TPVNT-1
Attached is a pic of the top vent adapter and the 3-4 increaser
