Hi all....

When is the fan light on the older 5660 USSC suppose to come on? I have pressed it to speed up fan as per manual and nothing changes.....no light comes on....bad led maybe....but nothing changes.

Take care,

John

The 5660 manual doesn’t show a light for the fan it just says when fan button is pushed it set the fan to high and overrides the automatic fan control.

Hi all.....

I feel totally unobservant...there is no LED above the fan button on my 5660.....just my imagination.....and it's dark there.....

That said.....pressing the fan button seems to make no difference....nothing changes....

Runs at level 2...but eventually fails at level 3....and trips the high limit switch.....200F.....or maybe 212F....100C....

I replaced the original switch with an identical one and it still will not stay going above level 2 out of 5.

Time to put in a 250F snap switch......

Take care,

John

I wouldn't put in a higher limit switch to try and solve your issue! you may burn down the house. there may be an issue with your board feeding to many pellets and over firing the stove now, so raising the limit could just damage the stove itself

pull your convection fan and make a test cord and plug into an outlet and see if its working. if its failing it will pop the 200::F snap disc

Hi Ssyko.....

The circulation fan(convection fan?) does comes on, but does not stay on if I press the fan button like I think it is supposed to. Because the high limit switch is triggered on level 3 or higher, I wanted to keep the fan on high. Sooooooo....I pressed the fan button and nothing different happens.

Take care, John

make a test cord and plug the convection fan in so it runs continuously. Then turn stove on and start as normal. leave the fan setting button alone just make sure its in auto. And see if stove works. If it trips again you probably need a new convection motor and possibly a new board
