My neighbor had a large oak cut down, at first he said I could have all the wood except the trunk. So I jumped on it, getting all I could. He was going to get the trunk milled. It was 36 in diameter at the bottom and 43 ft long. I took him a bottle of his favorite liquor as a thank you, and he says you know what? Take all the wood! So today I started the haul. Found some metal at the base. Enjoy the pics!

Nice score. Pretty good size tree. Your saw looks like a toy sitting on top of the trunk.

That is an awesome score. Nothing like 40 feet of straight Red Oak to split. Almost like Christmas!
 
That is one fantastic haul! Glad you got to get the whole thing. That has to be a 10 for sure.
