Last night, I caught a whiff of smoke when my fire was in the coaling stage. I had a good draft - used a lighter around all the joints to make sure - but if I got my nose close to the joint between the first 90* and the adjustable section it's attached to I could smell smoke. It was a calm, cold night so the only thing I can think of is that the straight section after the first 90* turn isn't 1/4" higher on the far end. Could that be the culprit here? Here's a picture of my stove pipe setup. I don't like the way the installer put the 90* directly onto the stove collar. It is a tight fit, but it doesn't look good. I'm going to try to use a double-wall converter here instead, but I may not have enough vertical space.

Any other ideas why I'm getting a bit of smoke leakage?
