Accentra insert removal

Looking for tips on how to remove one. Going to buy it tomorrow and have no idea what's ahead of me. I do not think it has the rail kit. How heavy are these things. It's a 2004

Lots of parts can be removed to reduce weight if necessary...

My son (16 & 180 lbs) and myself can lift the unit off our hearth and set it on the floor. They are pretty heavy. You need two strong guys to lift it..

One two wheeled dolly helps, to roll it out the door and down ramps. I rolled my coal stove out and the P61 in that way. It still took two people to get the dolly tipped back and stabilize the stove even though I strapped it.

If you slide it out a few inches and remove the 4 bolts holding the lid/top assembly and remove the top. Then the heavy door will lift off. pull the cast iron removable interior plates out. the the stove body is probably 100lbs. That is how we do it. U need a 7/16" or 3/8"socket( i cant remember which) with a 4" extension to take the top off. I think the accentra insert is the easiest stove to pack in and out of the house do to the cast iron coming off so easy! You have to have the lid open for the top to come off by the way.

Bring two 24" long 2x4's to slide under the rack and slide out the unit so you don't damage the hearth extension. Disassemble the sayings to remove the weight. Disconnect room temp sensor from blue wires and disconnect brown, white and green from power outlet before extracting the unit. Once you get the insert out on a dolly, the rack disassembles. You can remove the 3 rack castings to lower the weight of the rack. If you haven't got it yet, you can use my lift corkman.

Hi Scott. Thank you for your kind offer. I was to go pick it up on tues. they had someone lined up to buy it but they backed out and they called me to say the stove was mine if I was still interested. So I postponed the job I had lined up for the next day and put ramps and dolly in the truck. Text her the next morning to say I would be there in an hour and she tells me "too late it's sold". I tried calling her and never answered the phone. So bummed. Ty all for your input.

so this deal has been reurrected.seller contacted me yesterday to see if i was still interested.she was all in a jumble and apologised for the mix up.she apparently didnt realise i was the one she had agreed with to buy the stove and was wondering why i hadnt contacted her.the weather today had me sitting at home so off i went to see it.i pick it up tomorrow

So I went and got the stove today. Not the easiest job getting it out. I couldn't get the stove to slide out of the frame that sits in the fireplace. I was kinda expecting that frame to be screwed in place or something but not the case.it came right out with the stove itself. removed the 4 screws holding down the top and also had a difficult time removing it but finally got it out. So I got all the cast off which did make it a lot easier to transport. I have it in my shed now and will begin to go thru it over the next few days. I tried it in test mode and all light are on on control board. Both blowers work fine. Igniter is good. I have a red light for the feed motor but the auger will not turn. Stove was installed new in 2005 and used for 2 seasons. The couple I bought it from have never run it so it had been sitting there for 10 years unused.hopper was empty but I think there may be some pellets in the feeder system which may have gunned up the auger which is why it won't move. Just guessing on that though. This stove is in very good condition other than some interior rust but nothing that a little elbow grease won't fix. Can anyone tell me how to gain access to the distribution blower. Pics to follow soon

Yikes. So far, I've paid to have mine cleaned twice, by fall it should be done again. With only my healthy-but-small wife to help, one scenario for me might be we get it out, clean, and then I have to call in a pro anyway as we cannot reinstall it. Time will tell.

So I got a chance to look at the stove today. I put it in test mode and again had all lights red on the control board.however the only thing that was actually running was the distribution blower. I had a feeling the feed mechanism might be jammed up with pellets so I pulled the auger motor and the auger. To my surprise it was clean as s whistle. Had some pellets in there but the auger is like shiny new and motor runs great on my test cord. I opened up the fines box and all good there too. Since this unit had been sitting fo about 8 yrs I opened up the gear box and added some high temp grease. So next I tackled he combustion blower snd what a disaster that was. I've been soaking the wing nuts everyday since I got the stove on Tuesday. I went to remove the blower and 2 of the wing nuts snapped right off The stove body and all the cast is in crazy good shape as is the rear of the stove where all the components are. The inside of the stove has some minor rust that I was able to sand out but the combustion path and blower housing has some serious rust. I had a heck of a time getting the blower out but eventually did but now I have 2 of the screws stuck in the housing.i did get s lot of the rust in the housing and need to get a long brush to tacks the exhaust path next. And tips on how to get those 2 screws out.

Did you put the hopper lid back on? If that lid is off or open the feed motor will not start. Does the comb. motor turn freely. The vac switch has to close for the auger and the igniter to start. vac switch opens and closes the neutral to those 2 items. That is why you get the light even if it does not come on.

Yes the hopper lid is back on as is the door. My mechanic drilled out those 2studs and last night I installed the auger motor and combustion blower with a new fan blade. Just about ready to be fired up if the weather cooperates. It's in my shed so I gotta pull it outside once I get a chance to burn
