Yep. Our most reliable local guy has taken a look at the tea leaves and sees us as having close to average to a little above average temps.

Looks like the track shifted to the west from the first forecast. The left flank and to the north they are talking snow with the east getting possibly all rain the week before Christmas.

From the looks of the map in the OP, Ohio is gonna get left out with no winter this year.
Actually, what it probably means is that nobody has any clue what Ohio weather will do. Pretty much par for the course.

Otherwise, it's been an inch or less every couple of weeks. What with the high temperatures and the lack of winter snow cover, the sugarers are down in the dumps about this season's prospects. They had a fabulous year last year, but this one looks like a real bummer.

I am looking out the window at blue skies, sunshine, reemergence of decks as the snow slowly evaporates. Temps around here are generally staying above zero. This is what we think of as "spring". If we counted all of the snow season as winter, that would be nine months, and people would have to be some kinda crazy to live someplace where winter lasted nine months. HA! We're not THAT stupid!

Neither is my wife . . . but I'm a bit down. Only have ridden the sled twice . . . and both times I had to trailer it -- once to Dover-Foxcroft and this past weekend to Lincoln. Unless anything changes these could end up being my only two rides of the season.

Mother nature does this every January. We get a thaw, then get hit with nice cold snowy weather. Spring doesn't usually start here until late March-early April.
It ain't over yet, although that would be nice.
Oh, and I typed that back in Dec., so at that point, next spring would be spring of '12. YMMV :coolsmile:
I've already started thinking of the garden. Probably not the only one.
Our local weather service was saying that if March is above average like the rest of the winter has been,
this will be the warmest average winter in the last 50 years! Hmmm, that tells me that since 1962
our winters have been on the average "colder". So much for the Global Warming crowd
