Way below normal temperature in Maine? Wow. We were way above normal here, and no snow. I had my drive plowed once in December and that's it. Otherwise, it's been an inch or less every couple of weeks. What with the high temperatures and the lack of winter snow cover, the sugarers are down in the dumps about this season's prospects. They had a fabulous year last year, but this one looks like a real bummer.

I am looking out the window at blue skies, sunshine, reemergence of decks as the snow slowly evaporates. Temps around here are generally staying above zero. This is what we think of as "spring". If we counted all of the snow season as winter, that would be nine months, and people would have to be some kinda crazy to live someplace where winter lasted nine months. HA! We're not THAT stupid!
