Advice needed for douglas fir

Counting the growth rings. It was an old tree.

You can get away with this with fir due to it's high oil content. But it also burns cooler with higher moisture content. I'm glad to be ahead this year, especially if we have la Nina part two this winter.
 
Well I burned my first piece last night and I was very impressed with it. Looking forward to colder weather so I can load up the stove with it.
