Hi all,

I've had a Contura i4 stove installed around 3 weeks ago, upon installation the fitter damaged one of the vermiculite plates (if that's the correct name, I believe Contura call them something different, but one of the firebox lining side plates).

The left hand plate has had a reasonable sized chip taken out of the top left of it, approximately 2 inches diameter, which at it's deepest point is about 90% way through the plate.

The fitter has organised a replacement with Contura and I've been advised that this may yet still be another 2/3 weeks away from being delivered. The stove has not yet been fired up.

The fitter has advised/insisted that the stove will still be fine to use in the mean time and that there will be no possible damage / implications to the stove itself. So this brings me to my question... is it actually ok to use? Or should I hold off for another 3 weeks until the new plate is installed?

Any advice on this would be much appreciated, I'm flying a little blind on this one.

Thanks,
