Does the cold/warm air exchange work within a room? If I have a colder part of a bigger space, will pointing a fan into the warmer area from the colder part work.
 
Yes it will. Put the fan down low on the floor and run it at low speed.
 
Ceiling fan in reverse on low speed can work really well .
 
one of those wire fans with a U shapped support stand that allow it to blow straight up.
put it in a colder corner blowing straight up, in a while the air should be well mixed
