Are you sure the sound is coming from the glass and not the air being sucked through the fire pot? I know mine makes a similar noise on start up. After the pellets light and burn for a few seconds, it stops. For my stove it is normal.

Its coming from the top of glass where the air wash is i can hear air being sucked in wasn't sure if thats normal

As long as there is no smell of smoke, the stove is running as it should and the glass stays clean then you should be good to go. IMO
