Hi there!
I've got an alcove made of decorative stone that currently has a propane stove but I'm replacing it with a Lopi Endeavor. The distance from the hearth to the ceiling is 82" but I'm told that for it to be up to code (and most safe), the combustible ceiling should be 84" above the hearth.
Can I put any non-combustible material on my exposed wood ceiling to prevent a fire? I'm more concerned about safety than code.
Thanks for your help!
