Are there any issues with using an aluminized fiberglass adhesive sheet (like used in car heat sheilding) on drywall behind my heatshield, or is that unnecessary overkill?
 
If the stove installation meets or exceeds the documented clearance requirements, then it is completely unnecessary. The aluminum would not serve as a shield unless it was mounted on 1" standoffs and open at the top and bottom so that air can freely circulate behind it.

What stove is this for and what are the current clearances?
