Well, I was getting ready to stop burning for the year. However, tomorrow is April 1st, and it is going back down to around 20 degrees tonight. I guess that is where "April Fools" comes from! All of the plants are starting to bloom from the sunny 60 degree weather and then "BLAM....." Well, I guess I'm going to fire the wood stove back up again tonight

The serious burn season is done. But if the night will be below mid 30's I'm doing an evening. Most years we get those nights into May. Also those April showers, damp cold days, a fire warms the bones. No fire this weekend but I did scale back the wood supply on the side deck to about 25 splits.

Going to 25 tonight, but I wouldn't be surprised if we stay above freezing from here on out. I put a 4" BL round in the back of tonight's load, as a last hurrah.

My stove has been going 24x7 since last fall, no end in sight. Lows in the 30s for the upcoming week still.

Feels like a long winter at this point!

I do have a couple optimistic daffodils that bloomed already, though.

Had the stove shut down for a week, then last week the weather cooled back off and we got 10" snow on Thursday, so I re-fired it. Weather suppose to reach low 50s this weekend so that will put the kabosh on my burn season.

I will be burning some wood every day, until temps outside reach 70/50. Some people can't wait to be done when it's this late in the season, but I don't mind continuing until the house stays warm on its own.

It's a matter if kicking the furnace on for a bit or lighting a fire. To me it's a matter of time, if I'm not busy I'll build a fire, if I'm too busy I'll let the oil furnace do the job, dont think it's a big savings but a fire feels nicer.

Same here as a lot of the posts above. Still having fires since it's chilly, not cold. I'm in central MA, halfway between Boston and Worcester.

10-day forecast at weather underground has highs averaging 55 and lows 38. Fires in the evening.

Not going crazy about the amount of wood moved into the hoop in the garage.

It's April 3rd and I've got a fire in the wood stove. Looks like the weather is going to be warming into the 60s over the next few days with lows in the 40s. I'll probably still have a few overnight fires to keep the house warm.

We're just chill chasing now. I might start a fire if it gets into the mid-40s, but the nights lately have been above that. 53º last night so the heat pump is keeping things warm and it's loafing at these temps.

Not mowing grass yet so that means below average temps to date. Been mostly in the 20's at night which means evening fires. Used about 2/3 tank of oil for the year so far. Not bad I don't think.
