My new thermometer that goes through the top of the stove into the combustor for some reason moves,in a clockwise position. I've never seen this before. This is a new factory original, baffling. Occurs after being heated up enough to close the bypass, and moved over 50% overnight.

I’m not quite following what you are saying, it moves clockwise? The whole gauge spins?

The thermometer does not run into the cat. It sits directly behind the combustor (federal law).
Mine did same thing, but I assumed it was movement thru the cat, around the shaft that caused it. Then, I assumed it was the blowers.

Can't recall my conclusions because I just moved it back.

Back to where, mine goes in the little hole on the top of the king, as you know, the entire thermometer moves ,i'm going to buy another and see if that corrects it.Thanks

Is the stove on a slab or wood subfloor? Vibrations could be moving it. Refrigerator, kids running, furnace, chasing the wife around, etc. It's either vibration or a REALLY strong draft.

Any chance the gauge face is loose on the shaft and the needle is spinning it?

My princess has the hole drilled such that the needle contacts the OEM convection deck and jams up or spins the whole meter. Was a bad design or manufacturing defect. I have to install the gauge 180 degrees off so that the needle sweeps in front.

Just a reminder that even BK makes mistakes.

The Condar fits and works perfectly that I just installed, and very accurate and 29$ direct from Condar.

I use and like the condar too. Real numbers and better graphics. The condar and the BK meter both had that interference issue with the convection deck.

I never had that issue with the oem but do with the condar.
