Need dimension on top of stove from front lip to flue opening of a TOP Vented set-up. Trying to figure out how far into my Fireplace firebox the 400 will need to go to get it connected to the liner. The Jotul Installation manual (Pdf) doesn't give this to me... weird how this critical dimension id absent!

Could also use the depth of the Ask Shelf...

OK Thanks!!

Page 14 of the "Manual" at the Jotul web-site (Pdf download) Figure 1 is what I'm looking to get additional measurements on... Depth of Stove Top F to B...

Front lip of stove TOP to front of Flue opening (TOP VENT Set-up) (& I guess adding 6" will give me to back of flue opening) ALSO depth of Ash shelf...

Thanks in advance...

Wow... Guess there's no F400 owners looking to give a helping hand. Guess I should go to the source or call a shop...

I think I'm understanding which dimension you're asking about. I just measured 12" from the front of the stovepipe to the front of the stove top. The ash lip is an additional 5" deep. Don't forget that double wall pipe will be larger than 6" if that's what you'll be using.

Good luck - it's a great little stove.

Thanks ailanthus... that's exactly what I was looking for! I estimated 13-14 depth of stove-top, 12 is even better!
I'm still undecided if I'm going to pull the trigger on the F400 or look to install an insert (350 or 450) AND... the Wife is also
liking the Napoleon 1100c or 1600c ...

I'm suffering from a bad case of "Paralysis by over-analysis" So much research, so little time!

Thanks again ailanthus!!
