Any idea what brand stove this is?

Hello Everyone,

I just recently moved into a house that has a wood stove and i have no idea what brand stove this is. I would like to get some replacement parts for it and have searched the internet with no luck at all. I've looked high and low on the stove and it doesn't seem to have any markings at all. Any help would be appreciated. And yes.. I know the area needs some work, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Thanks in advance.

Might want to call your insurance company and see what they say about the lack of UL tags on it, some insurance companies want that on it.

It looks like a Haughs / CFM stove.

My recommendation would be to just buy a new stove, if that thing has no tags on it I wouldn't invest money into it, that could be a downpayment on a new stove, you can get a new steel stove like that for $625.

Thanks Mellow for your input. I would have to agree. What would your recommendation be for something in the 900-1k range? I would like to have an ash tray below as well. Its a once in awhile burner.. for those nights the electric heat just doesn't seem to cut it. If i'm going to do this i might as well do it right!

That's good to hear. Without knowing what kind of stove it is, it will be difficult to determine what R value of hearth it would require (if any). But non-combustible would surely be a must.

Napoleon Stoves any good? Looks like the local builders supply close to where I live sells them. My house is about 2000 sq/ft.

Also the Madison is a good choice since it doesn't require hearth protection, only ember/spark.

I heard most sold at the big box stores aren't quite the same quality.. true?

Not when it comes to Englander stoves, they are built in VA and some of the actual designers of the stoves are on these forums. For a basic steel stove at budget pricing they get the job done. Some of the other brands sold at box stores are coming from China, so they are not recommended.

Good to know.. Thanks Mellow for all the recommendations. The Englander would be a ship to store or ship to home via Home Depot. Also, Is most venting 6" now? My current is an 8".. Nothing is ever easy..

I am just going by what you currently have which is a steel box budget stove. Many other good stoves out there with a range of pricing.

I would recommend having a chimney sweep come by and inspect your setup before moving forward, you might need to put a 6" liner down your chimney and convert it to 6" for a newer stove.

Haha! Exactly! Chimney sweep is coming out this coming Tuesday. I figured I would make sure things were okay there like you said before moving forward. Currently the 8" just exhausts into the chimney. The current stove i have gets the job done perfectly so something similar would probably be the ticket. It's amazing how advanced the stoves are now compared to the one I currently have. No dampers anymore and it looks like they would be an even cleaner burn then what i'm currently getting which is pretty good considering I see very little smoke currently out the chimney.
