Have been researching inserts. Stopped by a local Quadra-Fire dealer who seems great - has a lot of positive reviews online from local customers too. They only offer Quadra-Fire. The issue there is I'm seeing some terrible reviews for many of the Quadra-Fire inserts. I just can't shake that most of the reviews are older. I can't find any from the past few years. Wondering if the quality is any better?

I've research Harman butt he dealers are all quoting me some crazy installation prices, whereas the Quadra-Fire dealer had a very reasonable installation price.

I'm nearing the point where I have to decide to proceed or push it off another year. I'm a huge believer in online reviews from real people. With that being said, I'm very reluctant on Quadra-Fire due to so many poor reviews.

Thanks for any thoughts/comments/advice.

I don't have a Santa Fe, but I do have the Castile which is basically the same internal parts as the Santa Fe.

I have had the unit for 12 years now. I have had to replace the convection fan twice because the bearings were getting noisy. Also replaced one of the snap discs, I think it was disc number 2. Pretty minimal repairs for 12 years.

I don't know what the reviews were saying that you are referring to, but I have had very good luck with mine and would recommend one. If the reviews are for the Mt. Vernon with the multi-fuel ability, I know they had problems with them when they first released them, but I think that has all been fixed.
