Anyone else seeing high amounts of fines in 2024 EZ Blaze pellets?

First year running EZ Blaze pellets, seeing high amount of fines in all the bags, Has anyone else seeing this?

yes... Great pellet for heat..high 8k but even 5 yrs ago the excesive fines have always been an issue.

Does anyone know if there's any benefits of sifting the fines out of the pellets?

extra lifting and work to sift but it wouldn't hurt.

Incredible amount of fines. I buy thru Lyme Green Heat, NH, but I have a bulk bag only, not one of their systems so I look at every bucket I put in my P68. There are so many fines the ash builds back over the fire and sometimes when the hopper gets a little low, I find the stove has gone out and when I look in the auger all I find is a tiny bit of fines. It was bad last season but nothing like this. I bought a ton of 22lb bags of Force pellets, and the stove works like it should. I'm new to bulk delivery, is this a delivery problem or are the pellets coming out of the mill this way?

OMG I guess I'm glad it was not just me. I wound up trying 4 tons when my targeted brand did not arrive, at the suggestion of my vendor. Pellets themselves were fine, but the bags! The fines! Wound up having to change my loading ritual to pick pellets and pieces out of the last quart or half-gallon, after pouring carefully. Some bags I had to take offline and sort while watching TV.

Many many bags were not fully sealed, loose pellets throughout each ton. About 6-8 had moisture. Still have a ton I'll hope to leave for the next owner . FWIW my stove is not great with fines, no trap and you can hear when the auger bushing is getting fouled.

I've come to conclude that "loose" bags, that droop noticeably when you pick them up in the middle, cannot help but jostle their way into fines.

I got a ton of these this year and fortunately am not having the same issue. The bags are in good shape (well sealed, secure and not loose) and while there are some fines, I’ve seen much worse. I got them on early buy and they were delivered to my dealer this summer and weren’t left over from last year, or at least not left over from my local dealer’s warehouse.
