I think the Husky version is called "X-Cut" or something like that. Not sure if it's "cross-cut" or "ex-cut". My chain grinder does a good job and offers consistent and repeatable results with standard round ground chain. I think these "special" chains are probably good for guys that hand file, but I cut way too much to deal with that.I saw a few YouTube vids. A while ago. Seemed like a way to sell more product. Here is a special chain and a special file for the the special chain. It will cut faster (15-20%???) but cost you more. Didn’t husky do something similar or I am I making that up?
No need to consciously keep file rotated correctly, as the 'bottom' of the hex file is flat and is indexed on the bottom of the gullet. The file shape is hexagonal (six-sided).don't see how it would be any better than round filed. It might make it easier to keep the file depth correct, but then you have to keep it rotated correctly too.
Narrower than standard 3/8" pitch chain.Narrower kerf than what?
I tried one, they cut good but I couldn't get it to cut as good as it did new. That chain has now joined my round ground ones.Anyone hear ever get a chance to try one of these hexa files/ chains?
