has anyone made a small woodfired kiln, or kicked the idea around? I've got some wet oak on my hands and some time so why not?
I plan to make a solar kiln next summer.

yes, thanks for the clarification.
JJWOODCUTTER said:I have made a wood fired kiln inside of my pole barn, the room is about 12' X 20' and holds 2 full cords of firewood, I use a large woodstove and burn about 1/3 of a cord a week to heat the room, with temperatures ranging from 120-145 degrees, depending on ambient temperature. I normally can't dry it fast enough for customers needs. I stack the wood in boxes I have made and can move them around with a pallet jack. It usally takes about a week for each load.
JJWOODCUTTER said:Yes, I usually cut up and process the wood as my supplier brings it. I will take some pictures of the actual kiln and post them.
