I have seen a couple of them in the stove picture index from this site. There are hundreds of stoves pictured though so it'll take you some time.

The shields stick out from the stove front so you bang your forehead on them while loading.

I have the heat shield on my Clydesdale, it is similar to the one you have pictured above, however my heat shield is exactly the same length as the surround. It only sticks out at a 45 degree angle 3" at most, so it really isn't much of an eye sore. I've seen other heat shields on other stoves that might have been 8" wide, but at only 3" you will not bump your head on it and really it blends in quite well with the surround. I'll try to find a picture of it at home tonight.

I think the cost was $90 and I needed it for clearance purposes, but all in all its not that bad to look at.

Also mine is the factory heat shield as far as I know. The people who installed my stove put it on. Its not connected to or mounted on the mantel. Its positioned immediately above the surround, just like the picture above except it stretches across the entire surround and blends in a little better... in my opinion.

Were you ever able to find a picture? I'm thinking about the clydesdale but will have to have the shield.

Hearthstone doesn't make a heat shield for the Clydesdale. They ship the Homesaver shield with the units when they are requested that fit on the bottom of your mantle. You do not have to use this shield with your insert. As others have posted many installers have different shields that will work just as well.
