I've got a Miata and an 11 year old. Perhaps one day he'll learn to drive the stick.
My daughter has been driving im my parking lot and trails for years. But now has her permit and wanted to.try the miata

I can but I still don't think it's legal here in Washington state to ride in the front seat until age 12. In any event, my wife probably wouldn't be alright with it just yet. Hopefully soon.
Ahhh

Mine drove manual for the first time last weekend as well lol. But it was in the miata. My bronco isn't the easiest to drive and my only other manual

I bet a Miata is a blast to drive!

We’ll be working on hills this weekend. They beat her last weekend, lol. After a couple stall outs she noped out of it. I got her up the hill and she took back over.

They are so much fun. Not terribly fast but so much fun to throw around

I definitely enjoy mine. I once had a faster car. It wasn't as fun to drive. There's an old saying about how it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. My old car would have been great on a track but that sort of driving is expensive and can only occur rarely. My Miata is fun every time I leave my home.

Of course cars can be fun in many different ways. If I were wealthy like Jay Leno, I might have a huge garage of toys. I'd love to see what it's like to drive a McClaren F1 and also a Model T. A Rolls Royce and a Gull Wing Mercedes. I've not driven anything all that exotic. But having grown up in the 1960s and 1970s, I've driven a wide range of vehicles. In college, I thought my friend's Beetle was a lot of fun. At college, a friend let me drive his 1970 BMW 320i and it was a kind of revelation. I still have fondness for those over-chromed land yachts we knew so well.

I rode in a self driving car this past weekend, it was great! Somehow afterwards I was still able to drive a car with a manual transmission. Funny thing about knowledge and learning new things. Always good to know how to do things the "old" or manual way but also good to keep your mind working about new technology.

I moved to the Pacific northwest recently and I'm shocked at how many people out here don't heat with wood with how wet the winters are. lots of people just tolerating mold and mildew in a way that I don't get.

On the other hand you have way more winter air quality issues in the PNW then where I came from. Lot's of valleys where the air just sits and wood smoke actually does become a problem. Up your way in Kendall, down in Concrete, further south in lots of places in Oregon. The air can feel dead sometimes and they have wood burning bans for air quality
