The original ash fettle on my Vigilant woodstove is damaged and needs to be replaced. I bought the replacement part and initially thought that the old fettle simply lifts out, but there are cast 'tabs' on the inside of the front panel that prevent it from releasing. I've read the Vigilant disassembly manual, but it does not give any details on the ash fettle. Perhaps the main air tube on the left side needs to be removed to allow enough room for the fettle to be taken out? Any direction on how the fettle is removed (hopefully without taking the whole stove apart) would be appreciated!
