Why would you rather not?Can anyone recommend a good one, i know you can use a regular shop vac but id rather not

I empty it after every use to make sure nothing hot stays in there.
I picked up the Powersmith ash vac last year and it works great and a good price too

Ya but thats just the filter . The ash dose not go in a bag it just goes in the can
