Aspen Split

Just a few pictures of todays work, made a trail up in then split some aspen, started at 11:00 & finished splitting at 2:00 then cleared a new trail out. This will be used for the shoulder season 2011-2012.

Picture 100_1623 is the trail up in, 100_1622 and 1624 are the aspen. The last two are a before and after of the new trail out.

I just got some aspen from my sister. Not a type of wood I generally burn here so I don't know much about it. How long do you let it season?

Do you consider it a hard or soft wood?

It is considered a hardwood and I think 6-8 months would be good in the sun with wind.
