Hi. I'm new and glad I found this sit. I recently purchased a used Avalon arbor wood stove replaced the rope gaskets but I'm not getting more than 4 hr burn times when the damper is closed. And when the damper is open maybe evey 2 hrs have to load wood. The book says this thing should burn way way more that that. Can someone tell me what I should look for next. There is got to be air getting in here from some where. Thanks

Not sure if this is a cat stove or not, but it looks like it has a 2.3 cf firebox, If I want to maintain the high heat out put from my 2.3 cf stove then yes I load every 4 hrs to keep the place warm. I can let it go for 10 hrs and still have enough coals to re-light but the useful heat is long gone. Im sure your manual saying 12 hrs is from the time you light your stove until the last ember dies. If it is a cat you should be getting longer burns.
