Good morning!
We have a Heritage 1 8021 that came with the 1800 sq. ft cape we bought a few years back.
- The baffle board on it was dinged and took another hit last season to where I decided to replace it this year. The issue I ran into was that the board was broken on the front, and the support was pushed out of alignment so I wasn't certain of the support orientation. Can anyone confirm if the below is how it should look?
The curved part is wrapped around the back of the intake line with the recessed portion of the board resting on top of the support and the right angle portion of the support is vertical. It appears to match the one photo I found (from a buyer of the same baffle on Amazon) and turning or rotating it any other way either blocks the intake or raises the baffle up at an obviously incorrect angle, so I'm thinking I got it right but I'm being extra cautious, since it's fire.
- When replacing the baffle, I noticed a lot of ash built up in the "T" section (bottom half of the second image). We're only using the top vent connected to a chimney, no blower or other attachments. I removed what I could by hand but suspect there is more in there. Does that need to be empty for proper ventilation?
Thank you!
Don
