they ran out of pellets 1st week of Feb. been using pine bedding pellets with tax around a dollar more then stove pellets. they seem to last longer same if not a little more heat at the same feed rate but they blacken the window pretty quick. anybody else forced to use them

Made to become sawdust again when subjected to moisture.
They typically burn hotter and faster than stove pellets with a greater ash content
They also tend to have more fines in a bag
In a pinch, they work fine, just have to clean your stove more often
Make sure that they are made with just sawdust, no fillers or binders

stove pellets turn to dust when wet also. bedding pellets burn a little hotter but last maybe 10-15% longer for me. the ash content is a little more but not bad and they do produce more creosote but not a problem. it was either that or nothing
I didn't know there was a shortage on pellets. We have plenty of them down here in Mid-Atlantic if you want to get a truck full.
I am 35 miles north of NYC and this is not the first time they ran out. remember they were predicting a bad winter in the summer and yet they did not make enough pellets
My cat just took a dump in a litter box full of bedding pellets. 
Had the box sitting there for months hoping they would take to it and finally end the dust/tracking issues from clay I have had to deal with the past 30 years.
