When we shut our Big E down it will does a loud bang every time. Only once, doesn't seem to affect it's ability to heat. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum
Sounds like something hot is contracting on cooldown
But without hearing it or being there really can't say

It's pretty loud. I can clearly hear it upstairs with my bedroom door shut. It's hard enough to make the pellets in the hopper jump.

Sounds like a big panel is popping. Maybe a side of the hopper?

I have that happen with my P43. It is a heat shield that I installed because the clearance to a wall on the side is right on the edge. Yes, it is really loud, but doesn't mean anything besides it is cooling off.
