[Hearth.com] Black cherry find
Stumbled across this cherry blown down during recent high winds. The x 27 that's on the way will be broke in come Tuesday!

Nice find, that'll burn!

Get some pork butt and fire up the smoker!

X27 will make short work of that cherry.

Good luck with it. One of my first scores when I was new to woodburning was a big, long cherry and I was ecstatic to get it. It seemed like a special thing for some reason...guess I never knew much about trees before that and was surprised to learn how prevalent cherry trees were around here ;em. It split like a dream, dried wonderfully in time for the following season.

I haven't had another good cherry score until recently. Brought home a truckfull, thought I had a real score. Turns out this one is one of the stringiest things I've ever split! It splits apart but each piece is a fight to finally get separated. Hardly worth the hassle but now my driveway is half full of it so I gotta get it done.

Long story short...I hope you got a good one!
